Airbnb reported fiscal year 2021 executive compensation information on April 22, 2022.
In 2021, five Airbnb executives received on average a compensation package of $7.6M, a 76% decrease compared to previous year.
Aristotle Balogh, Chief Technology Officer, received $11M in total, which increased by 35% compared to 2020. 50% of Balogh's compensation, or $5.3M, was in option awards. Balogh also received $18K in bonus, $432K in non-equity incentive plan, $600K in salary, $4.2M in stock awards, as well as $13K in other compensation.
For fiscal year 2021, the median employee pay was $202,541 at Airbnb. Therefore, the ratio of Aristotle Balogh's pay to the median employee pay was 52 to one.
Dave Stephenson, Chief Financial Officer, received a compensation package of $10M, which increased by 7% compared to previous year. 50% of the compensation package, or $5M, was in option awards.
Catherine Powell, Global Head of Hosting, earned $9.6M in 2021, a 35% decrease compared to previous year.
Nathan Blecharczyk, Co-Founder, received $7.6M in 2021, which decreases by 67% compared to 2020.
Brian Chesky, Chief Executive Officer, earned $132K in 2021, a 100% decrease compared to previous year.
