Anthem reported fiscal year 2020 executive compensation information on April 9, 2021.
In 2020, five Anthem executives received on average a compensation package of $7.7M, which is about the same as previous year.
Gail K. Boudreaux, Chief Executive Officer, received $17M in total, which increased by 11% compared to 2019. 53% of Boudreaux's compensation, or $9M, was in stock awards. Boudreaux also received $3.3M in non-equity incentive plan, $3M in option awards, $1.4M in salary, as well as $439K in other compensation.
For fiscal year 2020, the median employee pay was $61,544 at Anthem. Therefore, the ratio of Gail K. Boudreaux's pay to the median employee pay was 278 to one.
Gloria M. McCarthy, Chief Administrative Officer, received a compensation package of $5.5M, which increased by 5% compared to previous year. 44% of the compensation package, or $2.4M, was in stock awards.
John E. Gallina, Chief Financial Officer, earned $5.4M in 2020, a 6% increase compared to previous year.
Peter D. Haytaian, EVP and President, Commercial and Specialty Division, received $5.4M in 2020, which increases by 6% compared to 2019.
Felicia F. Norwood, EVP and President, Government Business Division, earned $5.2M in 2020, a 34% decrease compared to previous year.
