Anthem CEO Gail Boudreaux's 2021 pay rises 13% to $19M

Anthem reported fiscal year 2021 executive compensation information on April 1, 2022.
In 2021, five Anthem executives received on average a compensation package of $9M, a 17% increase compared to previous year.
Gail K. Boudreaux, Chief Executive Officer, received $19M in total, which increased by 13% compared to 2020. 51% of Boudreaux's compensation, or $9.9M, was in stock awards. Boudreaux also received $4M in non-equity incentive plan, $3.3M in option awards, $1.6M in salary, as well as $567K in other compensation.
For fiscal year 2021, the median employee pay was $51,005 at Anthem. Therefore, the ratio of Gail K. Boudreaux's pay to the median employee pay was 379 to one.
Peter D. Haytaian, EVP and President, Diversified Business Group and IngenioRx, received a compensation package of $7.9M, which increased by 46% compared to previous year. 52% of the compensation package, or $4.1M, was in stock awards.
John E. Gallina, Chief Financial Officer, earned $6.1M in 2021, a 14% increase compared to previous year.
Gloria M. McCarthy, Chief Administrative Officer, received $5.9M in 2021, which increases by 7% compared to 2020.
Felicia F. Norwood, EVP and President, Government Business Division, earned $5.8M in 2021, a 11% increase compared to previous year.
