AutoZone CEO William Rhodes' 2018 pay jumps 27% to $4.2M

AutoZone reported fiscal year 2018 executive compensation information on October 26, 2018.
In 2018, five AutoZone executives received on average a compensation package of $2.6M, a 6% increase compared to previous year.
William C. Rhodes III, Chief Executive Officer, received $4.2M in total, which increased by 27% compared to 2017. 41% of Rhodes' compensation, or $1.7M, was in option awards. Rhodes also received $1.3M in non-equity incentive plan, $1M in salary, $90K in stock awards, as well as $146K in other compensation.
William T. Giles, Chief Financial Officer, received a compensation package of $2.5M, which decreased by 2% compared to previous year. 50% of the compensation package, or $1.3M, was in option awards.
William W. Graves, Executive Vice President, Mexico, Brazil & Store Development, earned $2.1M in 2018, a 2% decrease compared to previous year.
Mark A. Finestone, Executive Vice President, Merchandising, Supply Chain & Marketing, received $2.1M in 2018, which decreases by 2% compared to 2017.
Thomas B. Newbern, Executive Vice President, Store Operations, Commercial, ALLDATA & Loss Prevention, earned $2.1M in 2018, a 3% decrease compared to previous year.
AutoZone's fiscal year ends on August 27.
