CarMax reported fiscal year 2022 executive compensation information on May 10, 2022.
In 2022, seven CarMax executives received on average a compensation package of $4.7M, a 14% increase compared to previous year.
William D. Nash, Chief Executive Officer, received $14M in total, which increased by 38% compared to 2021. 44% of Nash's compensation, or $6M, was in option awards. Nash also received $3.5M in non-equity incentive plan, $1.2M in salary, $2.6M in stock awards, as well as $347K in other compensation.
For fiscal year 2022, the median employee pay was $51,674 at CarMax. Therefore, the ratio of William D. Nash's pay to the median employee pay was 265 to one.
Edwin J. Hill, Chief Operating Officer, received a compensation package of $4.3M, which increased by 20% compared to previous year. 38% of the compensation package, or $1.6M, was in option awards.
James Lyski, Chief Marketing Officer, earned $3.5M in 2022, a 44% increase compared to previous year.
Shamim Mohammad, Executive VP and Chief Information and Technology Officer, received $3.1M in 2022.
Eric M. Margolin, General Counsel, earned $2.9M in 2022, which is about the same as previous year.
Enrique N. Mayor-Mora, Chief Financial Officer, received $2.8M in 2022, which increases by 27% compared to 2021.
Diane L. Cafritz, Chief Human Resources Officer, earned $2.6M in 2022.
CarMax's fiscal year ends on February 28.
