Carnival reported fiscal year 2021 executive compensation information on February 15, 2022.
In 2021, six Carnival executives received on average a compensation package of $5.3M, a 14% decrease compared to previous year.
Arnold W. Donald, Chief Executive Officer, received $15M in total, which increased by 13% compared to 2020. 49% of Donald's compensation, or $7.4M, was in stock awards. Donald also received $6M in non-equity incentive plan, $1.5M in salary, as well as $114K in other compensation.
For fiscal year 2021, the median employee pay was $8,658 at Carnival. Therefore, the ratio of Arnold W. Donald's pay to the median employee pay was 1,740 to one.
Michael Thamm, Chief Executive Officer, received a compensation package of $6.9M, which increased by 32% compared to previous year. 44% of the compensation package, or $3M, was in stock awards.
David Bernstein, Chief Financial Officer, earned $5M in 2021, a 12% increase compared to previous year.
Arnaldo Perez, Secretary, received $1.8M in 2021, which decreases by 23% compared to 2020.
Peter C. Anderson, Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer, earned $1.6M in 2021.
Enrique Miguez, General Counsel, received $1.4M in 2021.
Carnival's fiscal year ends on November 30.
