Devon Energy reported fiscal year 2009 executive compensation information on April 28, 2010.
In 2009, six executives at Devon Energy received on average a compensation package of $7.4M, a 16% decrease compared to previous year.
J. Larry Nichols, Chairman, received $16M in total, which decreased by 19% compared to 2008. 36% of Nichols' compensation, or $5.8M, was in option awards. Nichols also received $2.1M in bonus, $1M of change in pension value and nonqualified deferred compensation earnings, $1.4M in salary, $5.6M in stock awards, as well as $323K in other compensation.
John Richels, Chief Executive Officer, received a compensation package of $11M, which decreased by 8% compared to previous year. 29% of the compensation package, or $3M, was in option awards.
Stephen J. Hadden, former Executive Vice President, earned $5.7M in 2009, a 14% increase compared to previous year.
David A. Hager, Executive Vice President, received $5.5M in 2009.
Darryl G. Smette, Executive Vice President, earned $4.2M in 2009, a 18% decrease compared to previous year.
Danny J. Heatly, Chief Accounting Officer, received $2.3M in 2009, which decreases by 7% compared to 2008.
