Evergy CEO Terry Bassham's 2020 pay jumps 55% to $9M

Evergy reported fiscal year 2020 executive compensation information on March 24, 2021.
In 2020, five Evergy executives received on average a compensation package of $4M, a 55% increase compared to previous year.
Terry Bassham, Chief Executive Officer, received $9M in total, which increased by 55% compared to 2019. 65% of Bassham's compensation, or $5.8M, was in stock awards. Bassham also received $629K of change in pension value and nonqualified deferred compensation earnings, $1.5M in non-equity incentive plan, $950K in salary, as well as $147K in other compensation.
Greg A. Greenwood, Chief Administrative Officer, received a compensation package of $2.9M, which increased by 30% compared to previous year. 32% of the compensation package, or $912K, was in stock awards.
Anthony D. Somma, Chief Financial Officer, earned $2.8M in 2020, a 43% increase compared to previous year.
Kevin E Bryant, Chief Operating Officer, received $2.8M in 2020, which increases by 38% compared to 2019.
Heather A Humphrey, General Counsel, earned $2.3M in 2020, a 35% increase compared to previous year.
