FirstEnergy reported fiscal year 2020 executive compensation information on March 26, 2021.
In 2020, seven executives at FirstEnergy received on average a compensation package of $4M, a 34% decrease compared to previous year.
Charles E. Jones, Chief Executive Officer, received $10M in total, which decreased by 31% compared to 2019. 60% of Jones' compensation, or $6M, was in stock awards. Jones also received $3M of change in pension value and nonqualified deferred compensation earnings, $945K in salary, as well as $104K in other compensation.
Steven E. Strah, Chief Executive Officer, received a compensation package of $5.8M, which decreased by 4% compared to previous year. 44% of the compensation package, or $2.5M, was of change in pension value and nonqualified deferred compensation earnings.
Samuel L. Belcher, SVP & President, FE Utilities, earned $3.3M in 2020, a 14% increase compared to previous year.
Christine L. Walker, Chief Human Resources Officer, received $2.4M in 2020.
Robert P. Reffner, Chief Legal Officer, earned $2.3M in 2020, a 6% decrease compared to previous year.
Gary D. Benz, SVP, Strategy, received $2M in 2020.
K. Jon Taylor, Chief Financial Officer, earned $2M in 2020.
