Mastercard CEO Ajay Banga's 2018 pay rises 9% to $20M

Mastercard reported fiscal year 2018 executive compensation information on April 29, 2019.
In 2018, six Mastercard executives received on average a compensation package of $7.6M, a 12% decrease compared to previous year.
Ajay Banga, Chief Executive Officer, received $20M in total, which increased by 9% compared to 2017. 33% of Banga's compensation, or $6.8M, was in stock awards. Banga also received $5.3M in non-equity incentive plan, $6.7M in option awards, $1.3M in salary, as well as $341K in other compensation.
For fiscal year 2018, the median employee pay was $121,897 at Mastercard. Therefore, the ratio of Ajay Banga's pay to the median employee pay was 167 to one.
Martina Hund-Mejean, Chief Financial Officer, received a compensation package of $7.5M, which increased by 13% compared to previous year. 32% of the compensation package, or $2.4M, was in stock awards.
Craig Vosburg, President, North America, earned $4.7M in 2018, a 20% increase compared to previous year.
Ann Cairns, Former President, International, received $4.5M in 2018, which decreases by 15% compared to 2017.
Tim Murphy, General Counsel, earned $4.5M in 2018.
Gilberto Caldart, President, International, received $3.9M in 2018.
