MetLife reported fiscal year 2021 executive compensation information on April 29, 2022.
In 2021, five MetLife executives received on average a compensation package of $8.8M, a 6% increase compared to previous year.
Michel Khalaf, Chief Executive Officer, received $17M in total, which increased by 8% compared to 2020. 53% of Khalaf's compensation, or $8.7M, was in stock awards. Khalaf also received $450K of change in pension value and nonqualified deferred compensation earnings, $4.7M in non-equity incentive plan, $1.2M in option awards, $1.4M in salary, as well as $278K in other compensation.
For fiscal year 2021, the median employee pay was $76,392 at MetLife. Therefore, the ratio of Michel Khalaf's pay to the median employee pay was 218 to one.
John D McCallion, Chief Financial Officer, received a compensation package of $7.5M, which increased by 10% compared to previous year. 41% of the compensation package, or $3M, was in stock awards.
Steven J. Goulart, Chief Investment Officer, earned $7.1M in 2021, a 4% increase compared to previous year.
Bill Pappas, Executive Vice Pres., Global Technology & Operations, received $6.5M in 2021, which decreases by 9% compared to 2020.
Ramy Tadros, President, U.S. Business, earned $6.4M in 2021, a 13% increase compared to previous year.
