Microsoft reported fiscal year 2019 executive compensation information on October 16, 2019.
In 2019, five Microsoft executives received on average a compensation package of $21M, a 43% increase compared to previous year.
Satya Nadella, Chief Executive Officer, received $43M in total, which increased by 66% compared to 2018. 69% of Nadella's compensation, or $30M, was in stock awards. Nadella also received $11M in non-equity incentive plan, $2.3M in salary, as well as $111K in other compensation.
For fiscal year 2019, the median employee pay was $172,512 at Microsoft. Therefore, the ratio of Satya Nadella's pay to the median employee pay was 249 to one.
Amy E. Hood, Chief Financial Officer, received a compensation package of $20M, which increased by 36% compared to previous year. 76% of the compensation package, or $15M, was in stock awards.
Bradford L. Smith, Chief Legal Officer, earned $17M in 2019, a 29% increase compared to previous year.
Jean-Philippe Courtois, Executive Vice President, President, Global Sales, Marketing and Operations, received $15M in 2019, which increases by 36% compared to 2018.
Margaret L. Johnson, Executive Vice President, Business Development, earned $10M in 2019, a 19% increase compared to previous year.
Microsoft's fiscal year ends on June 30.
