Microsoft reported fiscal year 2022 executive compensation information on October 27, 2022.
In 2022, five Microsoft executives received on average a compensation package of $27M, a 12% decrease compared to previous year.
Satya Nadella, Chief Executive Officer, received $55M in total, which increased by 10% compared to 2021. 77% of Nadella's compensation, or $42M, was in stock awards. Nadella also received $10M in non-equity incentive plan, $2.5M in salary, as well as $110K in other compensation.
For fiscal year 2022, the median employee pay was $190,302 at Microsoft. Therefore, the ratio of Satya Nadella's pay to the median employee pay was 289 to one.
Amy E. Hood, Chief Financial Officer, received a compensation package of $26M, which increased by 12% compared to previous year. 82% of the compensation package, or $22M, was in stock awards.
Bradford L. Smith, Vice Chair and President, earned $23M in 2022, a 14% increase compared to previous year.
Judson B. Althoff, Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer, received $19M in 2022.
Christopher D. Young, Executive Vice President, Business Development, Strategy, and Ventures, earned $12M in 2022, a 59% decrease compared to previous year.
Microsoft's fiscal year ends on June 30.
