Moderna CEO Stéphane Bancel's 2019 pay falls 85% to $8.9M

Moderna reported fiscal year 2019 executive compensation information on March 16, 2020.
In 2019, five Moderna executives received on average a compensation package of $5.2M, a 79% decrease compared to previous year.
Stéphane Bancel, Chief Executive Officer, received $8.9M in total, which decreased by 85% compared to 2018. 78% of Bancel's compensation, or $7M, was in option awards. Bancel also received $1M in bonus, $921K in salary, as well as $9.5K in other compensation.
Stephen Hoge, President, received a compensation package of $5M, which increased by 6% compared to previous year. 80% of the compensation package, or $4M, was in option awards.
Tal Zaks, Chief Medical Officer, earned $4.8M in 2019.
Juan Andres, Chief Technical Operations and Quality Officer, received $3.9M in 2019.
Lorence Kim, Chief Financial Officer, earned $3.6M in 2019, a 60% decrease compared to previous year.
