Nasdaq CEO Adena Friedman's 2020 pay rises 14% to $16M

Nasdaq reported fiscal year 2020 executive compensation information on April 27, 2021.
In 2020, five Nasdaq executives received on average a compensation package of $6.3M, a 5% decrease compared to previous year.
Adena T. Friedman, Chief Executive Officer, received $16M in total, which increased by 14% compared to 2019. 66% of Friedman's compensation, or $10M, was in stock awards. Friedman also received $98K of change in pension value and nonqualified deferred compensation earnings, $4.1M in non-equity incentive plan, $1.2M in salary, as well as $54K in other compensation.
For fiscal year 2020, the median employee pay was $125,096 at Nasdaq. Therefore, the ratio of Adena T. Friedman's pay to the median employee pay was 126 to one.
Michael Ptasznik, Chief Financial Officer, received a compensation package of $4.3M, which increased by 9% compared to previous year. 51% of the compensation package, or $2.2M, was in stock awards.
Bradley J. Peterson, Chief Technology Officer, earned $4.1M in 2020, a 7% increase compared to previous year.
P.C. Nelson Griggs, EVP, Corporate Platforms, received $3.9M in 2020, which increases by 17% compared to 2019.
Lauren B. Dillard, EVP, Investment Intelligence, earned $3.6M in 2020, a 57% decrease compared to previous year.
