Netflix reported fiscal year 2018 executive compensation information on April 23, 2019.
In 2018, six Netflix executives received on average a compensation package of $17M, a 28% increase compared to previous year.
Reed Hastings, Chief Executive Officer, received $36M in total, which increased by 48% compared to 2017. 98% of Hastings' compensation, or $35M, was in option awards. Hastings also received $700K in salary.
For fiscal year 2018, the median employee pay was $202,335 at Netflix. Therefore, the ratio of Reed Hastings' pay to the median employee pay was 178 to one.
Ted Sarandos, Chief Content Officer, received a compensation package of $30M, which increased by 32% compared to previous year. 59% of the compensation package, or $18M, was in option awards.
Greg Peters, Chief Product Officer, earned $15M in 2018, a 60% increase compared to previous year.
Kelly Bennett, Chief Marketing Officer, received $6.5M in 2018.
David Hyman, Chief Legal Officer, earned $6.4M in 2018, a 26% increase compared to previous year.
David Wells, Chief Financial Officer, received $5.8M in 2018, which increases by 13% compared to 2017.
