Netflix reported fiscal year 2019 executive compensation information on April 22, 2020.
In 2019, seven Netflix executives received on average a compensation package of $18M, a 9% increase compared to previous year.
Reed Hastings, Chief Executive Officer, received $39M in total, which increased by 7% compared to 2018. 97% of Hastings' compensation, or $37M, was in option awards. Hastings also received $700K in salary and $466K in other compensation.
For fiscal year 2019, the median employee pay was $202,931 at Netflix. Therefore, the ratio of Reed Hastings' pay to the median employee pay was 190 to one.
Ted Sarandos, Chief Content Officer, received a compensation package of $35M, which increased by 17% compared to previous year. 52% of the compensation package, or $18M, was in salary.
Greg Peters, Chief Product Officer, earned $19M in 2019, a 26% increase compared to previous year.
Spencer Neumann, Chief Financial Officer, received $12M in 2019.
Kelly Bennett, Chief Marketing Officer, earned $9.2M in 2019, a 43% increase compared to previous year.
David Hyman, Chief Legal Officer, received $8.2M in 2019, which increases by 27% compared to 2018.
David Wells, Chief Financial Officer, earned $5.1M in 2019, a 12% decrease compared to previous year.
