Paychex reported fiscal year 2019 executive compensation information on September 18, 2019.
In 2019, five Paychex executives received on average a compensation package of $3.3M, a 8% increase compared to previous year.
Martin Mucci, Chief Executive Officer, received $7.9M in total, which increased by 18% compared to 2018. 46% of Mucci's compensation, or $3.7M, was in stock awards. Mucci also received $1.7M in non-equity incentive plan, $1.6M in option awards, $950K in salary, as well as $17K in other compensation.
For fiscal year 2019, the median employee pay was $56,018 at Paychex. Therefore, the ratio of Martin Mucci's pay to the median employee pay was 142 to one.
Efrain Rivera, Chief Financial Officer, received a compensation package of $2.4M, which decreased by 26% compared to previous year. 36% of the compensation package, or $864K, was in stock awards.
Michael E. Gioja, Senior Vice President of Information Technology and Product Development, earned $2M in 2019, a 16% increase compared to previous year.
John B. Gibson, Senior Vice President of Service, received $2M in 2019, which increases by 13% compared to 2018.
Mark A. Bottini, Senior Vice President of Sales, earned $2M in 2019, a 17% increase compared to previous year.
Paychex's fiscal year ends on May 31.
