Paychex reported fiscal year 2020 executive compensation information on September 4, 2020.
In 2020, five Paychex executives received on average a compensation package of $3.2M, a 3% decrease compared to previous year.
Martin Mucci, Chief Executive Officer, received $8.1M in total, which increased by 2% compared to 2019. 55% of Mucci's compensation, or $4.4M, was in stock awards. Mucci also received $769K in non-equity incentive plan, $1.9M in option awards, $993K in salary, as well as $17K in other compensation.
For fiscal year 2020, the median employee pay was $59,642 at Paychex. Therefore, the ratio of Martin Mucci's pay to the median employee pay was 135 to one.
Efrain Rivera, Chief Financial Officer, received a compensation package of $2.2M, which decreased by 8% compared to previous year. 45% of the compensation package, or $990K, was in stock awards.
Michael E. Gioja, Senior Vice President of Information Technology and Product Development, earned $1.9M in 2020, a 8% decrease compared to previous year.
John B. Gibson, Senior Vice President of Service, received $1.9M in 2020, which decreases by 6% compared to 2019.
Mark A. Bottini, Senior Vice President of Sales, earned $1.8M in 2020, a 6% decrease compared to previous year.
Paychex's fiscal year ends on May 31.
