Red Hat reported fiscal year 2019 executive compensation information on June 25, 2019.
In 2019, five Red Hat executives received on average a compensation package of $7.4M, a 16% increase compared to previous year.
James M. Whitehurst, Chief Executive Officer, received $15M in total, which increased by 14% compared to 2018. 81% of Whitehurst's compensation, or $12M, was in stock awards. Whitehurst also received $1.9M in non-equity incentive plan, $1.1M in salary, as well as $14K in other compensation.
For fiscal year 2019, the median employee pay was $118,925 at Red Hat. Therefore, the ratio of James M. Whitehurst's pay to the median employee pay was 130 to one.
Paul J. Cormier, Executive Vice President and President, Products and Technologies, received a compensation package of $7.2M, which increased by 8% compared to previous year. 78% of the compensation package, or $5.7M, was in stock awards.
Arun Oberoi, Executive Vice President, Global Sales and Services, earned $5.2M in 2019, a 13% increase compared to previous year.
Eric R. Shander, Chief Financial Officer, received $5.2M in 2019, which increases by 52% compared to 2018.
Michael R. Cunningham, General Counsel, earned $3.9M in 2019, a 13% increase compared to previous year.
Red Hat's fiscal year ends on February 28.
