SLM reported fiscal year 2010 executive compensation information on April 8, 2011.
In 2010, six SLM executives received on average a compensation package of $2.8M, a 24% decrease compared to previous year.
Albert L. Lord, Principal Executive Officer, received $5.4M in total, which is about the same as previous year. 36% of Lord's compensation, or $2M, was in stock awards. Lord also received $83K of change in pension value and nonqualified deferred compensation earnings, $750K in non-equity incentive plan, $1.6M in option awards, $1M in salary, as well as $42K in other compensation.
John J. Hewes, Sr. Executive Vice President, received a compensation package of $3.3M, which increased by 5% compared to previous year. 39% of the compensation package, or $1.3M, was in option awards.
John F. Remondi, Chief Operating Officer, earned $2.8M in 2010, a 64% decrease compared to previous year.
Mark L. Heleen, General Counsel, received $2.4M in 2010.
Joseph A. DePaulo, Principal Financial Officer, earned $1.6M in 2010, a 51% increase compared to previous year.
Jonathan C. Clark, Principal Financial Officer, received $1.4M in 2010, which increases by 32% compared to 2009.
