Sonic Automotive reported fiscal year 2009 executive compensation information on March 5, 2010.
In 2009, five executives at Sonic Automotive received on average a compensation package of $2.3M, a 52% increase compared to previous year.
O. Bruton Smith, Chief Executive Officer, received $3.1M in total, which increased by 32% compared to 2008. 56% of Smith's compensation, or $1.8M, was in non-equity incentive plan. Smith also received $182K in option awards, $1.1M in salary, as well as $87K in other compensation.

David P. Cosper, Chief Financial Officer, received $2M in 2009, which increases by 44% compared to 2008.
David Bruton Smith, Executive Vice President and Director, earned $1.7M in 2009, a 145% increase compared to previous year.
