Visa CEO Joseph Saunders' 2008 pay slips 9% to $10M

Visa reported fiscal year 2008 executive compensation information on March 2, 2009.
In 2008, five Visa executives received on average a compensation package of $5.5M, a 16% increase compared to previous year.
Joseph W. Saunders, Chief Executive Officer, received $10M in total, which decreased by 9% compared to 2007. 32% of Saunders' compensation, or $3.3M, was in option awards. Saunders also received $1.9M in bonus, $671K of change in pension value and nonqualified deferred compensation earnings, $2.8M in non-equity incentive plan, $950K in salary, $337K in stock awards, as well as $210K in other compensation.
John M. Partridge, Chief Operating Officer, received a compensation package of $6.8M, which increased by 21% compared to previous year. 28% of the compensation package, or $1.9M, was of change in pension value and nonqualified deferred compensation earnings.
John C. Hans Morris, Former President, earned $4.9M in 2008, a 39% increase compared to previous year.
Byron Pollitt, Chief Financial Officer, received $3.4M in 2008, which increases by 1136% compared to 2007.
Joshua R. Floum, General Counsel, earned $2.3M in 2008, a 30% decrease compared to previous year.
Visa's fiscal year ends on September 30.
