VMware reported fiscal year 2020 executive compensation information on May 27, 2022.
In 2020, six VMware executives received on average a compensation package of $19M, a 49% increase compared to previous year.
Patrick P. Gelsinger, Chief Executive Officer, received $43M in total, which increased by 81% compared to 2019. 94% of Gelsinger's compensation, or $40M, was in stock awards. Gelsinger also received $1.5M in non-equity incentive plan, $1M in salary, as well as $28K in other compensation.
For fiscal year 2020, the median employee pay was $139,046 at VMware. Therefore, the ratio of Patrick P. Gelsinger's pay to the median employee pay was 306 to one.
Zane Rowe, Chief Financial Officer, received a compensation package of $19M, which increased by 60% compared to previous year. 91% of the compensation package, or $18M, was in stock awards.
Raghu Raghuram, Chief Executive Officer, earned $14M in 2020.
Rangarajan Raghu Raghuram, Chief Operating Officer, received $14M in 2020, which increases by 30% compared to 2019.
Sanjay Poonen, Chief Operating Officer, earned $13M in 2020, a 42% increase compared to previous year.
Rajiv Ramaswami, Chief Operating Officer, received $13M in 2020, which increases by 41% compared to 2019.
VMware's fiscal year ends on January 28.
