Welltower reported fiscal year 2021 executive compensation information on April 8, 2022.
In 2021, five Welltower executives received on average a compensation package of $5M, a 21% decrease compared to previous year.
Shankh Mitra, Chief Executive Officer, received $13M in total, which increased by 33% compared to 2020. 47% of Mitra's compensation, or $6M, was in stock awards. Mitra also received $3.9M in non-equity incentive plan, $1.5M in option awards, $1M in salary, as well as $334K in other compensation.
For fiscal year 2021, the median employee pay was $100,206 at Welltower. Therefore, the ratio of Shankh Mitra's pay to the median employee pay was 127 to one.
Timothy G. McHugh, Chief Financial Officer, received a compensation package of $5.4M, which increased by 24% compared to previous year. 50% of the compensation package, or $2.7M, was in stock awards.
Matthew G. McQueen, General Counsel, earned $2.6M in 2021, a 38% increase compared to previous year.
Ayesha Menon, Senior Vice President, Wellness Housing & Development, received $2.6M in 2021, which increases by 67% compared to 2020.
John F. Burkart, Chief Operating Officer, earned $1.8M in 2021.
