WEX reported fiscal year 2019 executive compensation information on April 22, 2020.
In 2019, five WEX executives received on average a compensation package of $3M, a 11% decrease compared to previous year.
Melissa D. Smith, Chief Executive Officer, received $6.5M in total, which increased by 15% compared to 2018. 53% of Smith's compensation, or $3.5M, was in stock awards. Smith also received $36K of change in pension value and nonqualified deferred compensation earnings, $1M in non-equity incentive plan, $1.2M in option awards, $763K in salary, as well as $77K in other compensation.
For fiscal year 2019, the median employee pay was $63,763 at WEX. Therefore, the ratio of Melissa D. Smith's pay to the median employee pay was 102 to one.
Roberto Simon, Chief Financial Officer, received a compensation package of $2.4M, which increased by 9% compared to previous year. 49% of the compensation package, or $1.2M, was in stock awards.
Scott Phillips, President, Global Fleet, earned $2.3M in 2019, a 8% increase compared to previous year.
Joel Dearborn, President, Corporate Payments, received $2M in 2019.
Robert Deshaies, President, Health, earned $1.6M in 2019.
