WEX reported fiscal year 2021 executive compensation information on April 19, 2022.
In 2021, five WEX executives received on average a compensation package of $4.6M, a 51% decrease compared to previous year.
Melissa D. Smith, Chief Executive Officer, received $9.6M in total, which decreased by 52% compared to 2020. 51% of Smith's compensation, or $4.9M, was in stock awards. Smith also received $35K of change in pension value and nonqualified deferred compensation earnings, $2.2M in non-equity incentive plan, $1.6M in option awards, $792K in salary, as well as $159K in other compensation.
