Whirlpool CEO Marc Bitzer's 2018 pay jumps 75% to $12M

Whirlpool reported fiscal year 2018 executive compensation information on March 1, 2019.
In 2018, five Whirlpool executives received on average a compensation package of $5.7M, a 10% decrease compared to previous year.
Marc R. Bitzer, Chief Executive Officer, received $12M in total, which increased by 75% compared to 2017. 37% of Bitzer's compensation, or $4.4M, was in option awards. Bitzer also received $179K of change in pension value and nonqualified deferred compensation earnings, $1.5M in non-equity incentive plan, $1.3M in salary, $4.4M in stock awards, as well as $195K in other compensation.
For fiscal year 2018, the median employee pay was $20,485 at Whirlpool. Therefore, the ratio of Marc R. Bitzer's pay to the median employee pay was 578 to one.
Jeff M. Fettig, Chairman, received a compensation package of $8.8M, which decreased by 45% compared to previous year. 36% of the compensation package, or $3.1M, was in option awards.
James W. Peters, Chief Financial Officer, earned $2.9M in 2018, a 7% increase compared to previous year.
Joseph T. Liotine, Executive Vice President and President, Whirlpool North America, received $2.8M in 2018, which decreases by 45% compared to 2017.
João C. Brega, Executive Vice President and President, Whirlpool Latin America, earned $2M in 2018, a 54% decrease compared to previous year.
