Whirlpool CEO Marc Bitzer's 2019 pay rises 18% to $14M

Whirlpool reported fiscal year 2019 executive compensation information on March 6, 2020.
In 2019, five Whirlpool executives received on average a compensation package of $6.1M, a 7% increase compared to previous year.
Marc R. Bitzer, Chief Executive Officer, received $14M in total, which increased by 18% compared to 2018. 45% of Bitzer's compensation, or $6.3M, was in stock awards. Bitzer also received $1.2M of change in pension value and nonqualified deferred compensation earnings, $2.3M in non-equity incentive plan, $2.7M in option awards, $1.3M in salary, as well as $187K in other compensation.
For fiscal year 2019, the median employee pay was $20,765 at Whirlpool. Therefore, the ratio of Marc R. Bitzer's pay to the median employee pay was 674 to one.
João C. Brega, Executive Vice President and President, Whirlpool Latin America, received a compensation package of $4.9M, which increased by 140% compared to previous year. 56% of the compensation package, or $2.7M, was in stock awards.
Joseph T. Liotine, Executive Vice President and President, Whirlpool North America, earned $4.8M in 2019, a 73% increase compared to previous year.
James W. Peters, Chief Financial Officer, received $4M in 2019, which increases by 39% compared to 2018.
Gilles Morel, Executive Vice President and President, EMEA, earned $2.7M in 2019.
