Whirlpool CEO Marc Bitzer's 2021 pay rises 10% to $19M

Whirlpool reported fiscal year 2021 executive compensation information on March 4, 2022.
In 2021, five Whirlpool executives received on average a compensation package of $8.2M, a 27% increase compared to previous year.
Marc R. Bitzer, Chief Executive Officer, received $19M in total, which increased by 10% compared to 2020. 36% of Bitzer's compensation, or $6.8M, was in stock awards. Bitzer also received $3.1M of change in pension value and nonqualified deferred compensation earnings, $4.2M in non-equity incentive plan, $3.1M in option awards, $1.3M in salary, as well as $207K in other compensation.
For fiscal year 2021, the median employee pay was $27,128 at Whirlpool. Therefore, the ratio of Marc R. Bitzer's pay to the median employee pay was 691 to one.
James W. Peters, Chief Financial Officer, received a compensation package of $8.3M, which increased by 55% compared to previous year. 44% of the compensation package, or $3.7M, was in stock awards.
Joseph T. Liotine, Chief Operating Officer, earned $6.9M in 2021, a 11% increase compared to previous year.
Gilles Morel, Executive Vice President and President, EMEA, received $3.9M in 2021, which increases by 32% compared to 2020.
João C. Brega, Executive Vice President and President, Whirlpool Latin America, earned $3.1M in 2021, a 19% increase compared to previous year.
