Cree CEO Charles Swoboda's 2008 pay jumps 175% to $2.9M

Cree reported fiscal year 2008 executive compensation information on September 16, 2008.
In 2008, three Cree executives received on average a compensation package of $1.5M, a 155% increase compared to previous year.
Charles M. Swoboda, Chief Executive Officer, received $2.9M in total, which increased by 175% compared to 2007. 37% of Swoboda's compensation, or $1.1M, was in stock awards. Swoboda also received $322K in non-equity incentive plan, $884K in option awards, $568K in salary, as well as $15K in other compensation.
John T. Kurtzweil, Chief Financial Officer, received a compensation package of $1.1M, which increased by 77% compared to previous year. 32% of the compensation package, or $361K, was in salary.
John W. Palmour, Executive Vice President Advanced Devices, earned $578K in 2008, a 34% increase compared to previous year.
Cree's fiscal year ends on June 26.
